Great for milling into flour. Makes a great whole wheat cereal as an alternative to oatmeal. Cooked and cooled is good as a grain salad. Good for your livestock too :) I'd like to trade for zone 9 seeds of fruits/veggies/herbs/coffee/tea/tobacco/flowers/grains/etc. Just let me know what you have to trade and how much wheat you would like :) |

This User's account has been FROZEN! Until, they supply the seeds that promised in trade! Avena nuda These are oats that grow without a hard hull. I have not tried these yet but I got more seed than I needed for a small test plot. It is spring sown and grows to about 3 foot in height. They are rolled and used as regular oats, or many like to sprout them for eating. They are also 15-16% protein. Sow in the spring after frost 3/4-1 inch deep. Cut the plants near the base when most of the green color has turned brown and the seeds are hardening (no longer milky, or hand strip seeds into a bucket. |
