add to favorites 2012 - Heirloom Lady Cream Peas Vegetables 1514 26
2012 UPDATE - Seeds are available for this special heritage lady cream pea! ORDER NOW FOR SPRING PLANTING! These seeds are very hearty growers. The Lady Cream Peas are the smallest of the cream pea species and the most delicious -we have a hard time when harvesting not to eat them all straight from the vine. Shelling is a breeze and simple blanching will store them in the freezer for up to one year. I received these seeds from my mother about ten years ago from East Texas (Huntsville) and they are HERITAGE seeds. I am in the process of getting a organic certification for the peas. My seeds are suitable for planting in the best planting time in your zone. The peas grow into vines and prefer a fair amount of water once planted.  The vines are aggressive, but I stilI plant them in rows with other vegetables. They make peas for shelling that are yellow and delicious fresh out of the garden. When the pods first come on they will be green, but you want to wait a few days until they begin to turn yellow and to dry just a bit. Pick them then. We also like picking immature ones for snaps. At the end of every growing season you allow the last crop of peas to dry on the vine and these become your seeds for the next year! I sale them for 30 seeds at $10 total. That’ll make two good rows of 15 each. I recommend 4 rows if you want a larger crop. I EXCEPT CHECKS ~ 1400 NORTH 6TH STREET, MCALLEN, TX 78501 OR PAYPAL TO RHONDAGMZ@GMAIL.COM

I have a conservative amount of Goji berry seeds for trade!... They are from very sweet and succulent berries! Goji berries are very hardy and can adapt to extreme conditions. The only thing they hate is having their roots stand in wet soggy soil. Also full sun is optimal. When planting make sure that you have enough space as the plant can grow between 6 and 8 feet tall! Apparently people in the Himalayas who regularly eat the berries live to between 120 and 150 years. (nice to know!) I will be doing a germination test and post the update on them!

Often considered a weed and native to North America, this contributor of leafy greens is well adapted and is usually not bothered by pest or disease. Great for guerilla gardening. Grows up to 5' tall and 3' diameter with good soil if letting go to seed. Greens are selectively picked and the plant can be cut down if it outgrows it's space. If eating fresh, younger leaves are best. Older leaves can be steamed. Plant will perpetually provide young leaves until seed starts to set. Seeds are a little smaller than onion seeds. Looking for orach, cress, a yellow paste tomato, yellow beefsteak tomato, interesting melons and squashes, anything unique. I highly prefer open pollinated. I have coyote melon seeds, that were used by native Americans. The seeds also are a very protein rich source of oil that traditionally was used for cooking, and skin ailments. The roots, the fruit and the fruit shell contain a highly concentrated saponin (soap) compound. The natives used to grind this plant material and rub it into dirty clothes to wash them. The roots also contain natural “bleach” which whitened the fabrics as well. Shampoo was also made from the root.

They are followed by egg-size deep orange fruits from late summer through fall. Of the many cultivars of P. caerulea, the most widely known is 'Constance Elliott', which has fragrant white flowers and bright orange fruits. 'Regnellii' has exceptionally long corona filaments. Never before marketed !! Stuffing Peppers !! After 22 years of growing, I've perfected the ultimate Northern Red Belle variety !! Firm, deep red, heavily walled, beautifully per portioned, sweet, no defects of any kind, crisp and most importantly, the plant itself was unmarked by insects or from other distractions (Withering, yellowing, multi-branching or multi-leafing) I believe that I have perfected (Or have come close to), producing the BEST Improved Northern Red Sweet Pepper on the market - Pepper and Plant both!! Having grown these peppers, year after year in this U.P. climate, and having had my ups and downs, battling the colder climate and seasons, this year it finally hit home for me, of what I had exactly accomplished. The size of the plants themselves have only a 18" average maximum height, which tells me that the plants are placing their growing energy, into the production of the pepper, rather than the plant itself. Right now, I have many peppers, still on the plants, that are nearly 7" in length, one in particular, has an amazing 11 1/2" girth!! Many of the peppers are closing in on that size, and the kicker is, is that the peppers have not even started to turn red yet (Today is the 14th of August), which tells me that they will still grow for at least one more week. This next sentence, you may not believe but it's 100%, the honest truth... I have never used ANY fertilizer, pesticide, herbicide, chemical of ANY kind, on any plant, for all of these years. These are 100% organic, as organic can be!! I currently have a 99% germination rate from the seeds that I produce I can't say enough about the quality of what I've achieved

I have raised these trees to provide forage for my honeybees. The Vitex tree blooms during a normal dearth period in NW Louisiana. The tree is an excellent food source for pollinators. Do Not plant this tree near walkways or swimming pools unless you really love bees. Trees are very drought tolerant and will bloom until the first freeze if blooms trimmed and watered.

add to favorites Burford Chinese Holly Trees & Shrubs 274 1
The Chinese holly (Ilex cornuta) is like the native Yaupon holly (I. vomitoria) in some respects, in that it offers many options when landscaping. Chinese holly cultivars range from large screen plants like ‘Burfordii’ to the well-behaved and smaller ‘Carissa.’ One trademark of most Chinese hollies is the distinctive, glossy dark green leaves with five to nine prominent spines on the margin. These are not minor serrations, but more like sharks’ teeth. Cultivars such as ‘Rotunda’ would make an excellent substitute for barbed wire. While the leaves on many cultivars of Chinese holly may be hazardous, they are still very attractive. The very dark leaves have a distinctive luster. In contrast to the small leaves on Yaupon holly (I. vomitoria) or Japanese holly (I. crenata), Chinese holly leaves are larger and therefore provide a coarser texture to the landscape. Like most other hollies, it is a broadleaf evergreen, so there is no fall color. Origin: Eastern Asia. Heat Tolerance: Very tolerant

Why do I need Orchard House Heirlooms Genesis Survival Seed Pack™? Global Depression! In the USA, Canada and Western Europe, the entire industrial sector is in danger. Global Food Shortage! Food riots have erupted almost simultaneously in all major regions of the world. War! Is World War 3 about to happen? Global Famine! With large sectors of the World population already well below the poverty line, the short-term hike in the prices of food staples is devastating. Millions of people around the World are unable to purchase food for their survival. Natural Disasters! No person on earth is immune from natural disasters! Emergency Food Supply Running Out! No way to buy food...no money? NEW WORLD ORDER... 1 world government! The New World Order will feed on human poverty and the destruction of our natural environment. The list is endless... OK, but what does heirloom seed mean? Genetically diverse seeds that have been passed on from generation to generation. You grow a beefsteak tomato... the next year you get a beefsteak tomato from the seed! So what does GMO seed mean? The seeds have been genetically engineered! The DNA of the plant has been changed by man! You may not even get seed from GMO seeds! Under the articles of agreement of the World Trade Organization (WTO), the food giants will have unrestricted freedom to enter the seeds markets of developing countries. The acquisition of exclusive "intellectual property rights" over plant varieties by international agro-industrial interests, also favors the destruction of bio-diversity. NO MORE HEIRLOOM SEEDS... What does Hybrid Seeds Mean? F1 hybrids have been hand-pollinated, and are patented! Often Hybrids are sterile...you will not get seeds! Genetically identical within food types! Sold from multinational seed companies! Hybrid foods are foods which will not grow in Nature. They are foods which must be nurtured and protected by humans or else they will be overcome by birds, insects, worms, fungi, and bacteria. HEIRLOOM SEEDS ARE FROM MOTHER NATURE! What is a Mylar Bag! Mylar Bags are made of a polyester film laminated to aluminum foil. Creating a very strong material that creates a barrier from oxygen and moisture and creates a higher puncture resistance than any metallized polyester material. Our Mylar Bags are closed on the zipper end! (Tamper Evident / ZipSeal) Heat sealed on bottom end! You can reseal the mylar bag with the ziplock if you opened it! Morning glory vine (Ipomoea tricolor) is a fast growing tender vine that can easily climb a trellis or fence by twining itself around the support. The funnel-like flowers open in the morning, hence the name morning glory. The vine can be started from seeds indoors in peat pots 4-5 wks before the last frost date or sown directly into the ground after the soil warms up. Before planting, scrape the black seed coat with sandpaper and soak in water overnight to allow better germination. Plant in any type of soil but it grows better in poor, infertile soil and blooms best in full sun to light shade.
